Thanks for the thoughts and for reading. I think whether someone “needs" to understand something like quantum mechanics comes down to their own personal curiosity. I agree with you that no one knows the objective truth about the universe. However, science is the best available estimate based on our observations. It gives us a way to make sense of of what we see. As scientists, we are fully aware that we will never know everything. We can only know what we see and how we perceive it. Of course, this discussion is already pushing outside of the realms of science and into that of philosophy. For the curious person, understanding scientific concepts (or epistemological ones!) is one of many fruitful ways to try and make sense of the world around us.
